Also discussed is the positive effect of waiting until age 70 to receive Social Security benefits. Due to antiquated government assumptions relating to life expectancy and interest rates, you receive 8% tax deferred each year you wait. Put another way, by waiting from age 62 to age 70, the Social Security income would be doubled.
